Lat. A speedy remedy. A term applied to those cases where the remedy for the redress of an injury is given without any unnecessary delay. The action of dower is festinum remedium. The writ of assise was also thus characterized (in comparison with the less expeditious remedies previously available) by the statute of Westminster 2 (13 Edw. I, c. 24.)
